About North Scarle

North Scarle occupies a pleasant location close to the River Trent. Maybe it is this that in recent years has made the village a popular destination for fishermen. The Trent flows to the west of the village as it continues on its journey to the north of the country and the Humber estuary.

The village is small and unspoilt, it has pleasant leafy lanes and a quiet High Street. Of its most picturesque aspects apart from the church, is a George V Post Box. This is still in use, but sadly has been built into a modern brick pillar, it seems a pity that someone didn't think to surround it with a more appropriate old rustic brick to match some of the older properties of the village! There is a mixture of pleasant houses and cottages with delightful gardens, the historic stone parish church, a church hall, a few shops and a pub - The White Hart.

Visitors to the village will note the excellent sports field, this offers the opportunity for tennis, bowling, cricket and football, and even has a pleasant children's play area.

Lying beneath the soft Lincolnshire skies, North Scarle is both peaceful and pleasant, it is within easy reach of Lincoln with its magnificent cathedral and museum, and is a short distance from the pleasant town of Newark-on-Trent.
