The High Room has a wonderful plaster-work ceiling and there are fine examples of wood-carving. In a magnificent parkland setting, this beautiful house is well worth a visit. Another reason to visit Lamport is the classic steam railway. Evocative of a more romantic, by-gone era, restored steam trains take you through some of Northamptonshire's most breathtaking scenery on a journey full of interest and wonder. Other attractions in the area include historic Cottesbrooke Hall and the delights of Pitsford Reservoir-sailing, fishing and wildlife.
