Fotheringhay

St Mary and All Saints Church - view from castle site . Church is no longer as large as it would have been when Richard III was last known to have visited. In 1476, as duke of Gloucester, he led the cortege that brought the bodies of his father, Richard, Duke of York, and elder brother, Edmund, Earl of Rutland, for reburial in the family mausoleum. At that time, the church extended further east and there was a college and cloister attached on the south, between it and the River Nene.

Very good. So good I feel able to say that the tower is just a tad too plumb centre. Superb sharpness and exposure.

Very pleasing sky and lighting enhance the architectural details. Perhaps the only niggling distraction is at the bottom of the frame where there is the roof of a building and a pipe sticking up, otherwise it would be perfect.

Another strong composition; the roofline and additional buildings provide a base to draw the eye into the frame and prevent the church 'floating' in the background.

I agree with Edward and David. I would clone the pipe out and clone the ridge of the roof so it is the same colour as the rest of the roof, and maybe clone the path to make it appear as if the grass goes all the way to the border.

Yes, I think this is a very good suggestion, Stephen, to add a finishing touch to what is already a very attractive picture.
