I once battled in my narrow-boat upstream under that bridge against a very strong flow. It was in the winter and I had to spend a month waiting for lock repairs downstream and Goring was a good place to moor and wait.
An interesting anecdote, Patrick, and I hope you enjoyed your enforced stay at Goring. There are some good pubs if you need to while away the time, my favourite being the 'John Barleycorn'
Lovely scene Edward, made even better with Patrick's contribution.
A truly rural scene Edward.
