Blooming Crataegus !!

A few minutes to fill todaywith a very quick stop at Bookham Common and the first thing I came across was masses of Hawthorn in blossom- well I did have to take a shot or two did I not?

I much healthier tree than mine.......... I remember years ago when I was about 12 years old I took my mother a large bunch of the flowers home and put them in a vase. When she saw them she said " oh no" and immediatly threw them out, apparently they are unlucky and I could not understand why !
