I am fascinated by these quirky buildings. One of the good things about PoE is that you can discover some very unusual architecture from other people's photos. Incidentally, I have now discovered that this tower might have been the inspiration for the tower in J.R.R. Tolkien's books (as a child, Tolkien lived nearby).

Thanks, Terry, for confirming the Tolkien connection. It's a tribute to the power of Tolkien's imagination that Perrot's Folly could be the inspiration for the wizard's tower Orthanc in Lord of the Rings !
