Stamford

St Leonard's Priory - part of the fine transitional west front . The existing priory build in 1090 , supposedly on the site of a monastery which was founded by St Wilfrid in 658 and destroyed in the Danish invasion . The impressive west front was constructed about 1150.

Good shot of the Norman architectural details. The angle of the light shows up the detail very well.
