I remember 1976 - I was 8 at the time - and spending the school holidays down the beach.  Those were the days

Dont mention rag worm to me.The first time I ever went digging for them, I carried them in my hand. Never again, I didnt know they had jaws and sharp nippers. By the time I felt them, it was too late, about 20 rag worm were munching on my hand. still the blood helped the rubby dubby.

A lugworm to me is just a large worm you dig up to feed the fish with lol I remember when I used to go fishing (many moons ago now) we used to walk very gently over the lawn or sprinkle water on it to animate rain, then when they popped up...GRAM EM! lol

Hi Lyn:  We too, used to pick worms after rain.  We called them earthworms.  Never heard of lug worms.  Although we do have slugs.  The only other term I ever heard lug in is "lug nuts."  Lug nuts are the bolts for attaching a tire to a car wheel.

Wow, we really do get off on tangents, don't we?

As long as we're bringing back some old threads, I'd ask if Summer of 2008 is the coldest on record (so far).  From all the weather talk the last month or so, it doesn't seem to me that you've had much of a summer.  And all.

You know, Lyn, you can still get a nasty sunburn thru the clouds and all.
