Sunny and in the 70's right now, forecast high around 90°.  Last night I went to dinner with my friend Pat and as I pulled into the restaurant at 6, a huge wall of dust was bearing down on the city.  I didn't see the storm for being in the restaurant, but when I got home, I had a couple of branches from my back yard trees on the ground.

My big concern today is for my sibs who live in the Houston suburbs, where Hurricane Ike is expected to make landfall tonight.

Rained again - it always rains at school times 9 and 3 and now I have to go up 3 times it rains at 11.30 aswell! We have floods here - the canal burst it's banks and completely drained of water at Stourbridge - the water went into the already swollen River Stour and the poor folks are mopping out again. The canal towpath will be shut for months and the people who live in there boats have been grounded.

Ruth I hope your family get through the hurricane safely.
