One of my co-workers was vacationing in Alaska and the ash was all the way up there. Of course that might have been a different volcanoe. Today was much nicer, a littler cooler - now it is 25 and it only feels like 29. A good day. Sue, where do you get the emotions that you sometimes use? |

It's 11:15 as I type this, and boy, did we have a major gully washer tonight! Even now it's still raining! Our last rain was in May. I was out to a meeting this evening and when I went in to the meeting at 7:00 it was 99° and bone dry. When I came out at about 8:45, it was 75° and 2.5 inches of rain had fallen in 2 hours. Wind gusts of 54 MPH. I had to give my friend Pat a ride home and we boated down to her house on one of our main thoroughfares. The water was about a foot deep in the street and flowing like a river, and I know it was manhole covers I was driving over because the storm sewers were completely overflowing. It was fun!! That works out to about a quarter of our annual average rainfall in one brief storm. Thanks for sending it, Lyn! lol |
