An Australian man walked into the water to where I was standing, took me by the elbow and said "come with me" we walked out further until the tide was up to my knees. If he hadn't had hold of me I would have easily been swept off my feet, the rip tide was so strong. That was in less than two feet on water - lesson learned, beware the power of the sea even in very shallow water.

And another thing how do you know it's yours, has it got your name or a flag on it maybe? lol Overcast and chilly here in Oxfordshire today, but at least it's not raining |

A huge amount of damage already and predicted waves coming in at 6 metres plus in height! Be warned people, stay away and move to higher ground if you can. Call for help now if you think you need it, rather than leave it until it's too late. Trouble is I guess those who are in trouble, won't be reading this in the forum, so keep an eye on the vulnerable please. |

I had an email this moring asking if we wanted to book a winter break there this week. Think I might just give that a miss |

We on the east coast are bracing for a brief but brutal blast of arctic air rolling in here tonight and tomorrow with high temps in the single digits at best, and likely subzero at times. Searching for my thermals as we speak..... |
