My name is Robert Johnston and I live in the US (Alabama). I'm trying to
research my WHITE family of Leicester, England. My 7th
great-grandfather, John White, who immigrated to the Virginia during the
first half of the 18th Century, was christened on Feb. 4, 1700 at St.
Martin's Church in Leicester. His father was Conyers White (Chr. Sept.
15, 1672 St. Margaret's Church) and Mary Tilly (Chr. Jun. 6, 1675
Enderby). They were married Nov. 13, 1694 in St. Martin's Church.
Conyers White was the son of Edvardus (Edward) White and Frances Smith.
They were married Oct. 7, 1671 in Rothley Parish, Leicester, England.
All of this has been told to me by others, but I would like to verify
these marriages and relationships. Does any of these names sound
familiar to anyone? I'd like to verify this info with actaul records and
expand on my knowledge of them and learn where they lived.

I'm Robert Johnston, the one Wolf shared with you a posting of mine on this thread. I descend from Conyers White through his son, John White who married Ann Wisdom, grandson Thomas White who married Sarah Shelton, and great-granddaughter Nancy White who married Caleb Oliver. The family came from England to Virginia. My White-Oliver line came down to Georgia and spread all over the SE US. Some lines went through Kentucky and Tennessee. I live in Alabama.
