Are there any birth dates available for any of Samuel's siblings? Wonder wether he was the oldest or youngest? I viewed some of "heckmondwike'  History and pictures.  I was suprised too learn that the towns size was so small compared to Huddersfield.

George and Mary's children-----

Born Batley-----Charlotte (1854); Joe (1856), Sam (1860), John H. (1861)

Born Heckmondwike---Charles (1864), George (1867), Aguila (1869 ), Luke (1872).

His mum and grandma were born there too. His dad's place of birth I can't quite read at the moment, but neither of the above. Huddersfield is where the Registrar was recording their births. By 1881 they'd moved to Soothill, near Batley, where his dad now states he was born.

Paul:  Thanks for your latest findings on my G. Grandfather and his immediate family.  How does one go about finding info on Samuel's siblings and their decendants?

It would be fun too know if I had relatives alive and living in England.

Paul;  I joined Ancestry.com a couple days ago as I was inspired by the facts that you provided for me.  Was able to find more leads on my G. G. father Samuel and have had very good results on tracing his sister Charlotte's family.  Though the rest of the siblings are a puzzle I haven't been able to figure out as yet.  Can't seem to find out when anyone else got married, had children or died.  I have contacted  a few people  who are searching the "Senior"  name with no results yet .  Any ideas?

Hi James----you might like to try the BMD site here which is free----

 http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

But,a note of caution----there were usually 2 marriages per register page and they don't always put the two correct names together for the couples listed.  The location listed is that of the Registrar's Office, not the location of the marriage ( or birth/death ) which shouldn't be too far away.

Another  free site you might find useful for clues is Family Search

Need help determining my cousin's married name. She was Ruth Barber born in 1882 in Dewsbury,Yorkshire.  Her father was William Barber (1853-1922) her Mother Charlotte Elizabeth (Senior) (1854-1910.  Her sibling's were: Mary Elizabeth (1874-1882; Grace (1876-1910)Lucy Elizabeth(1879-1922) & Emma(1884-1960).  Ruth died in 1942 in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.

I researched  my Cousin Ruth on Ancestry worldwide and several other genealogical sites.  I keep coming up with a minimum of 3 possible husbands.  John Keenan, William Mitchell and Leelie Hand. and there could be more possible names.  I'm at a loss on whatelse too do.  Can anyone help solve my puzzle?  thank You for taking the time too read this.   Jim Schell

I see you've been on other forums with the same question and getting the same answers I found as well.  The people on the Who Do You Think You Are? forum are usually pretty helpful, so why not give that a shot too?  Just register and away you go.  Looks like you have a nice TR6 too.
