We saw everything from a bus window and really didn`t get to stop. The longest place we stopped was at Stratford-Upon-Avon for 90 min. That included our lunch and bathroom breaks, Cambridge University was 30 min. It was very disappointing but that gave me a reason to come back and plan another trip (with my mom this time), I`m hoping for May 2009. I did happen to stop at Grasmere in the lake district and fell in love with it. And London of course-I love it too. For the people who live in the UK your so lucky to live there, here in alberta it`s cold, snowy and weeks away from seeing any greenery, also if a building is more than 60 years old here we tear it down and build another ugly building to replace it. There`s no historic buildings here to mention of. Another reason to love England! |

But now have a feel for the beauty of our country, you can look at the picture tours here on this site and spend the next year planning the best trip of your life.

I`ve already got an intinary but think I will change it after I heard of so many other places from the favorite places in England forum. Either way I won`t ever take another tour. I`ll just go on my own and discover England for myself. It will be a wonderful trip. |

I was passing the place today and as i had the camera with me, I thought of your request so took a few pictures for you. Hope that you find them interesting. By the way a couple of years ago 'Time Team' a Chanel 4 History program produce a one hour show about the castle and its history. You might find that there is a copy of the program on disc or video. A google search might reveal where a copy can be obtained. I will submit the photos within the hour but it depends on how long it takes POE to authorise them. Regards Roy J.
