We call them sweets here too, as Denzil said 'candy' is used in the  USA. We call them sweets cos they're made of sugar which is sweet, why are they called candy Ruth?

Haven't a clue, Lyn.  I've never known what you call sweets by any other name but candy.  The term sweets over here means all the goodies - cakes, pies, candy, brownies, Danish, doughnuts, etc.  All the mental health foods.  Do you call candy bars sweet bars?

Hi Ron

You would think Pete would have known that wouldn't you. He seems to have the logic of a Vulcan at times!

Come to think of it....Is he a Vulcan?
