I understood the last word (tout), means to try and sell something, usualy around the doors.

I never learned French at school but years ago impressed my husband and children when looking for a bank in France with traveller's cheques in hand.  A lady stopped to help and all I recognised were a few words

Vacances? (Are you on holiday?)    Oui

Banque? (are you looking for a bank?)    Oui

Mari? (Is this your husband?)   Oui

Enfants? (are these your children?)    Oui

Smile That accounts for my fluent French!!
