He is to meet HM Queen Elizabeth and is addressing Parliament, why? He has just said we are close, what planet is he living on? Everybody knows the French hate us and the feelings are mutual aren't they?? I won't even buy their apples....wait for the flak!!

That more sounds to me just like a mutual mocking, whose roots are historical more than anything and that  never rises up to real hatred.

As a matter of fact, as our newspapers often recite with envy here, "France is still top list, along with Spain, in the holiday preferences of the English"  Wink.

The whole thing was ridiculous..especially when GB and Sarkozy stood on a football pitch with Arsene Wenger....what on earth has he got to do with anything except that he is French....I think there is a bit of mutual dislike between Britain and France and it goes back a long way. I quite admire the French for standing up to their governments and sticking together....I did NOT admire the way they set fire to our cattle trucks some years ago....cruel.

England and France are like Ron and me, love shooting each other in the bum. Can I say that on a family site?. We would wonder what was wrong if the other stopped sticking the darts in.

Has anyone noticed how similar Carle Bruni (Mrs.S,) and Christine Keeler look? References to Jackie Kennedy also.

Didn't Christine Keeler nearly bring down the government?

I'm quite a controversial so and so. I've got to say I love France and the French people. I've visited France on 20 or more occasions and have nothing but admiration for the people and their country. Compare our crime rates for instance......and our taxes, and our public transport, and our food, and our young people. Need I say more. One thing the French did get wrong is that very silly 2CV, but no-ones perfect. So what's with all the French stick? Andre.

Personally I don't see how you can dislike a whole country.......I don't think it's personal Andy.  The French call the British 'the roast beef' or something don't they...sorry I can't speak the lingo.Undecided
