It makes me soo mad, what if one day THEY needed help and everyone walked on by???? I say...what goes round comes round. and if I can help anybody I will, and I would hope someone would come and help me when/if I needed it. |

I will help anyone in my limited way. I cant push cars anymore, but there are a million ways to help people. |
Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | I do agree to some extent with what Ian said (“If people can't stop for 2 minutes to help someone in trouble then my fear is that there is little hope of changing or saving the world.”) years ago help was always on hand whether you required it or not, at the first sign of trouble people would rally round to offer help and support, today so many people just seem to be locked in their own world oblivious to what is going on around them and who might be needing a helping hand. Like most people have said on here I will help anyone who needs it if I can, unfortunately for every person willing to help there will always be somebody who will turn a blind eye, not necessarily a bad person, people just seem to get caught up with their own problems and busy lives. We all know that the world is in a mess and changes need to be made, the news is full of doom and gloom and it becomes so easy to get caught up in all the negativity , we focus on the negative aspects because they are so well publicised but allot of good is going on all around us every second of every day and we are witness to this at times of disasters, whether it be bombings, train crashes or natural disasters, at these times amongst the horror we see the real life hero’s and I’m not just meaning the emergency services and the military but ordinary members of the public who risk their own lives to help the people involved in these incidents, it’s at times like this my faith is restored in mankind. |

The best change we can hope to make has to be a change for the better in ourselves, and that's not easy! Honestly being the kind of people in our everyday lives that we would ideally like to be, is the biggest difference we can ever hope to make. I know I'm not saying this very well, so I'll understand if you miss my point. |

Seems funny these days when you can start a conversation and make friends with someone half way around the world, though someone you see from time to time 200 feet away, you don't have a clue who they are, month in and month out. And I've found countless times, they're just waiting for someone to make the first move to get to know people around them, rather than they doing it. |

I live in an old home that has been converted into three apartments (three floors three apartments). A new neighbor just moved into the apartment above me and so I went up with a small dish of Lindt chocolates and a card to introduce myself and welcome them to the building. At first they seemed a little suspicious and then down right surprised that I could be bothered. It was sad really. |
