I'm watching the life of birds, i've watched it so many times before but i never get fed up with watching such beautiful birds and their way of life, anyone else feel the same way about birds as i do.

I've been birdwatching since i was 6 years old and i'm self taught and theres nothing better than going for a walk on your own an watching birds, you never stop learning, theres always something you dont recognise and the thrill is going home and checking your books in the hope thats its something rare (its happened to me twice) and it was amazing.

A pleasant hobby Mick, I was very interested in birds as a young fella.

Now as an older fella, the interest is still there.......... lol Tongue out

I've been bird watching since I was a young un too, though on a more serious basis since I was 21.

I started watching Life of Birds while in at my friends house in Wales in May. I need to put it on my Christmas list (which means I will buy it myself eventually).

Today we had a Raven up in our Cottonwood Tree, it was huge, shiny black and making some very interesting noises.

Do you know why sometimes girls are called ' birds' ?

Because of the 'worms' they tend to pick up. Tongue outLaughing

Seagulls do my head in.  I do like birds, but not them.

LOL Wolf!

Mick - I love to see the birds in my garden and I have a variery of species as we live next to the nature reserve and I am a member of the RSPB so we go to the reserves sometimes. It's no good being a bird watcher with three noisy young boys in tow!

I get very excited when I see a bird I don't recognise, or one i haven't seen for a long time. However, when i was young i only had eyes for amphibians (and other pond life)Smile
I'll never forget the excitement of finding my first ever common toad (stuck in a crisp packet) or my very first great crested newt. I also remember when i took home a bucket containing a few tadpoles, and the next day when i went to inspect them, they were all dead, sucked dry by some mysterious creature. All that was left was their skins drifting around on the bottom of the bucket. That's when i discovered my first Great Diving Beetle larvae which had somehow got scooped up in the bucket with the unfortunate tadpoles. Cry

I love watching birds too Mick. I especially love indigo buntings! My dad was fascinated once when he saw a woodcock trying to impress a mate. That bird flew straight up about 100 feet in the air and circled a couple times and then swooped down to his mate. He still talks of that after several years.

I love watching birds, of the feathered kind, and taking photos of them. Living in a town house with a small back garden, I dont see many, but enjoy taking thier photos when I am out. I dont know what they are, to me they are birds, but they are fasinating creatures.
