For the past few years I've been very interested in volunteering as a Court Appointed Child Advocate, however, to do so you have to be available 24/7 for emergency calls and court appearances. Unfortunately, I haven't yet been able to work out a schedule that is agreeable to my employer.

I think you would be great at that Job Diana. show this to your employer and tell him how much they need your services.

Ive also dabbled in computer programming and computer games and 3d

Programming used to drive me a bit nuts, a space there or full stop out of place and the whole thing would'nt work, Handy.

My main hobby is birdwatching  but my other hobby is playing the bass guitar, and i have a tendency to spend a lot of money on the right equipment, something which the girlfriend is none to happy about.

I just hung a birdfeeder in a tree in front of my living room window and I can't believe all the different kinds of birds that are showing up that I have never even seen around here before.  I am really enjoying watching them.  Should have done it years ago.  I have found a squirrel proof feeder.

My other hobbies are reading and watching British period movies.

LOL Maryellen, i don't think there REALLY is a squirel proof feeder!  all the feeders we have are also TOUTED as squirrel proof, but believe me, they manage to get feed out of it....we have 2 of them on a metal pole and even grease the pole to make it harder for the squirrels to get to the feeders.

Roses, I thought there was no such thing as a squirrel-proof birdfeeder, but I did find one.  It is a long rectangular shaped plastic bin with four holes on each side, two higher than the others.  Around that cylinder is a grate with springs on the top.  When a squirrel climbs onto the grate to get at the seeds, his weight pulls down the grate and the holes are covered over by plastic squares strategically placed on the grate and the squirrells cannot get at the feed.  I threw the box away, but i will try to find out the name of it.  I was quite amazed to find that it really worked because, as I said, I really did not think such a feeder existed.

Saw a photo set in the papers the other day-----a bird feeder over a bird table just of out the reach of 2 squirrels, as it swung away from them when they tried to get to it.  Then one of them jumped on the bird table to hold it while the one on the tree got his nuts and seeds. Then, they changed places and the other stood there holding it steady while the other one then got his share as well. Smile

I enjoy numismatics, cooking, history, and collecting vintage Fender Stratocasters. However, my favorite hobby is...SAILING!

In the spring, summer, and fall (when I'm not working) I go sailing. In the winter...I dream about sailing in the spring, summer, and fall.

My boat: 30' Nonsuch Classic named Lazybones. I sail out of East Greenwich Yacht Club in Rhode Island, US.

Cheers,

Bob
