I used to operate DL2AG using mostly CW morse. (That was a forces ham station in Germany) I used to use a vibroflex side by side key. An RA17 receiver and a Collins KW2A transmitter and Linear Amplifer. those were the days.! |

I was going to take up pot holing and climbing with ropes, but, I was unable to. There's time yet. I love my music. I love all sorts of different genres but I adore rock music. I have just got back into motorbiking, pillion only at present. I am taking up mountain biking too when the nicer weather gets here. I love reading too. I have to be alone in the house to do it, or read in bed quietly. I can't seem to concentrate otherwise, LOL! I just adore being out in the countryside, seeing wild life, and best of all, feeding the wild fowl. Usually up in the Lake District. Museums are a must!!! Especially when they have Egyptian mummies in them! Edited by: Barbara Jones at:12th January 2009 15:46 |

My Grandad was a radio operator in WW1 at the Somme, so kind of runs in the family I guess. Yes, i think times do change a bit! Used to do a lot of monitoring of the h.f. bands on USB, 90% aircraft related stuff. To amuse themselves, the radio operators in the trenches used to see who could send the fastest/ CW. My grandad had apparently got up to some riduculous speed sending morse. Edited by: Paul Hilton at:12th January 2009 01:11 |

Iv'e made a promise to myself this year to get out more, I'm getting lazy. I am thinking of going to Coniston (Lake District) on my bike this summer. It's only about 10 miles from where I live, but I will have to put in a bit of practice first. Barbara, sorry there's no Egyptian Mummies in the museum where I do voluntary work, but you would be very welcome to visit. |
