Nice work if you can get it eh? Then she says that what she has claimed is within the agreed terms, but when you consider that most of us don't see that amount of money in a lifetime it becomes totally obscene! She obviously knew exactly what she was doing (probably paying the rent on her sisters property) in full knowledge that nobody could touch her! So that is what our politicians are really about I reckon, not what can I do for you, but what can I legally get out of you. And then they have the audacity to preach to us! Words fail me, I am so b....y mad about the way this nasty Government treats/has treated us!! THINGS HAVE GOT TO CHANGE! |

There will always be those who take advantage of the system at the tax payers expense. Having just spent a frustrating and futile weekend looking for new accommodations I had the occasion to wonder why the local government in Boston doesn't impose rent control to keep decent lodgings at an affordable level. Studio apartments (one room apartment with a private bath) is going for $1,000 - $1,500 per month. I finally started looking for rooms to rent in peoples homes thinking that would be more affordable. An example of how out of control things get when there is no rent control laws: I went to look at a single bedroom being let out of this man's house. When I walked into the dump the bedroom he had for let was right next to his own room. There was a hole the size of someones fist between the walls, car parts and bags of trash were littering the floor. He was asking for $1,500.00 up front to move in and then $500.00 per month rent for this little gem. I'd like to say that that was not typical, but I am afraid it is. As an aside: While there looking at this room, a woman barged in the front door and demanded to know who the f*** I was. Apparently, she was an ex-girlfriend who still has a key to the apartment. Needless to say, I walked out without a backwards glance. LOL! Fortunately, the situation is not so typical, but the fact that someone can charge $500.00 per month for a 8 X 10 room in such deplorable conditions and get away with it is outrageous. There are bed-rooms to rent in nicer homes but they are charging upwards of $700.00 to $1,000 per month. This is one reason so many people in recent years have gone into debt to buy houses they can't really afford. They figure if they can get the loan (which you could until recently) why line a land-lord's pocket paying $1,500 - $2,000 a month for a single bed-room apartment when you can have your own house for the same cost. |

You are the one that is suffering by getting all upset over these issues. You will be the one to have a heart attack or a stroke. I am concerned for you. I don't think there is one government on the face of this planet that isn't corrupt! Unless the public in general all pull together and attack nothing will ever change. So what I am saying, is take care of yourself and don't let them get to you. They will not suffer because of it! |

At least ONE DAY the tide will turn and we the 'peasants' shall unite in making it a better world for our children and grandchildren. The fact is that one day POE will be as big as one or two of the other well known websites and people will start to take notice of what is being said. It will start with a trickle, but end up being the market leader of the people! I honestly believe that, because we have a very sensible membership and provided things are not allowed to slip...and I can't see Chris and Sarah allowing that, then we are home and dry! And then what will we all be saying.....that's the power of POE!! |
