I prefer ones away from seaside resorts. My favourite beach holiday areas are Pembrokeshire, South Devon and South Cornwall. My all time favourite beach is Newgale in Pembrokeshire followed by East Portlemouth in South Devon and Porthcurno in Cornwall. What sort of beaches do you like? Where is your favourite? As with all the other tours having been prepared.....really great stuff members! I'll have a look through your beach tour soon Stephanie, but a safe beach for us whilst the children were young was Weymouth, so I guess it has to be Weymouth beach for us! |

I've yet to see all the tours, but I really appreciate the members setting them up. Nice to see you back, btw. Stephanie, I've been to so few beaches over there, but here's one you might like. It's Christchurch in Dorset. This picture was taken on a Sunday afternoon in August, so the farther down the beach you walk from where the car park is, the more deserted it gets. It was really lovely there. Picture by Ruth Gregory

Thanks you also Ruth - yes I've been to Christchurch beach - that's a lovely shot Ruth. I've only been to Weymouth once Ron - some of our friends go every year but they live near Cheltenham. I suppose it isn't that straight forward to get there from here! Same with Bournemouth too. |
