Timothy, Yes, have been to Ipswich, just not my cup of tea, but there are certainly very nice area's around it for sure....

i hear the cotswolds are very nice ive never been,in fact i may have only been down south three or four times i tend to go yorkshire way when i stay in this country for hols.

Very simular to the Ribble Valley, James, only the Cotswolds have more tourists.

Cotswolds are best visited in low season - September/October time or in the Spring.  Well worth a visit if you love pretty little villages and gentle, rolling countryside.
