I was told by my former father-in-law that the Shoemakers were Pennsylvania Dutch, so it somehow makes sense there would be Shoemakers making clogs somewhere. But it makes for no end of teasing when one is a child - "Hey Shoemaker! Make me a pair of shoes!" Funny stuff when you're 8! My maiden surname is Newkirk which many people had trouble spelling and/or pronouncing for some reason. Seems fairly straightforward to me. Sorry for getting off subject here, Ron! Now, back to the telly you lot! |

The servant's kitchen and dining area was filmed at Ealing Studios, West London.The TV adverts promoting the new programme nearly copied my photo on Poe for the camera location.
