See the stile on the left side of the picture? When I climbed over the stile and stepped down on the other side, my shoes became stuck in some black muck and I promptly walked right out of them before I realized they were stuck! We spotted this deer in the ferns and with all that I learned on National Geografic in my mind, I approched him with the wind in his back. When he took notice of my he didn't run but came even closer and given me all the time I need for making this picture.
