Apparently from next April we will get new 5p and 10p coins, which are to be made out of steel (which is cheaper of course!) and they will then be covered with a nickel plating. The new coins are to be slightly thicker than the old ones at 1.9mm compared to the current 1.7mm

Perhaps if they made them from chocolate we could at least eat them, lol
