I'm in the UK, in Bedfordshire Wolf, just north of London. Yess I was about 15 when I saw him lol I saw him the same time as I saw The Walker Brothers....my heroes!

I remember seeing Manfred Mann live at the Portsmouth mecca way back when. I believe he is a Pompey lad. I also saw Manfred Manns' earth band at the Guildhall in Portsmouth in the late seventies, absolutely brilliant!!

If you're refering to the Neil Diamond song Wolf, i'd say it was  Neil Diamond.

Who had a hit with the song, The Battle Of New Orleans  1) in the UK, and 2) in the US. ?

Quite correct Wolf. I didn't think many would get the Johnny Horton name, the only version I'd heard  way back, and thence Lonnie Donegan had a hit with it too, over here.
