Lyn I had exactly the same experience in 1997...the Hale Bop comet was in the sky at the time and I had just walked up my parents' garden path and stopped to admire the comet in the clear moonlit sky. Then a light like a small star started moving from the direction of the comet....it came closer and closer than disappeared behind the houses before reappearing. There were four or five lights at the front and as it approached I ran in and called my brother as a witness that I was not hallucinating...we both watched as he came over and when it was side-on there were two cigars shapes one on the other with lots of lights...as with you it was totally silent...and like you  I could not tell how high or how big it was as there was nothing to measure it by. We watched as it passed over and headed away and the back was the same as the front...just three or four lights. People may scoff but we know what we are saying is true.....many sightings of UFO's have an explanation but some remain as Unidentified Flying Objects.

Lyn

Think yourself lucky digi cameras weren't around then because 'they' might have seen you as the camera flashed and 'they' would have had you away never to be seen again! I reckon Sarah might be right, you'd had a drop of tipple, even though you won't admit to it. C'mon you're among friends, admit it!

And by the way, nice as it is, thats not really you in the avatar is it? C'mon you can tell us!

Oh Ron how you do scoff, Laughing but lets hope one day YOU will see something you cant explain lol Tongue out and yessss thats me i'm afraid, taken on the Great Wall of China no less.  Well at least Sue believes me, I find it a really interesting subject since i've seen them, and i try all the time to look up on the Web to see if there's any photos of them so I can say 'Yessss, THIS is what I saw!' cos its really hard explaining what they looked like.

Where's a pic of you then Ron? Shy? C'mon everyone, we're friends in here lets see what each other looks like ok? Or are there only a few of us brave enough ?  Cry Surprised

Lyn, I don't know if there are any pics on POE that will satisfy your lust for things from outer space, but I can guarantee that there is one member who will get it for you if not. I bet you know who I'm referring to don't you? Yes....Jason! So there you go Jason a challenge for you to satisfy Lyn, so to speak! Mind you Lyn, if Jason does get it and then disappears...like taken aboard by 'the aliens' how will we get to see it. I think you have carefully orchestrated this 'plot' to rid POE of Jason because he takes better pics than you!!

As for me seeing something that I can't explain, well I can't really go into that!

And finally for today Lyn (maybe) you want a pic of Ron? Do you want your pc to crash or what? So until I can work out how to get it loaded as my avatar you can click on either of these two links and hey presto, there he is with wife Anna.  http://visitthekilns.com/  and/or http://englandukhotelaccommodation.com/ and one further point, my pic is recent!! Lol...

Might I suggest a brisk cold shower at frequent intervals.

Nice pic Ron. I swear I've seen you around the village. Now that's spooky!

That picture would make a great avatar, have you tried posting it?

Sue

I spent over 21 years in the pest control industry around Oxon, Berks, Bucks so perhaps it was me that got rid of a wasp nest for example? I used to deal with anything that could fly, crawl, hop, dig up your garden, take up residence in your attic etc. I was once the UK's biggest independent pest control company - second only to Rentokil, but that really was a while ago. I had lots of USAF, MOD, Hospital, Hotel, Restaurant contracts (now were back to the Peninsula Restaurant in George Street, Oxford - surely the very best place to eat Chinese food), so its quite possible that it was during that period.

It is possible of course that you are mistaking me for David Bowie!!

As for using the pic for my avatar, I have got to work out how to do it because I don't have the original on my pc. I think I have seen it mentioned somewhere on the site and will have to find it, but as you perhaps now gather from that statement I am not particularly pc literate. I get by, but am the wrong age (I just look young - c'mon girls tell me that you agree) to start understanding a new  language. This in fact is one reason that POE host my website www.cslewistours.com they do everything in support of what I am trying to do here, that is create an awareness of C S Lewis and for which I am truly grateful. I could ask them I suppose but I will try to work it out first....if anybody knows how to do it, I'm ready for it and thanks, another piece of info via this great website.

I await the flood of 'you don't look that age Ron', into the forum. But just remember girls I've been married for 42 years. Thinks....could have got less time for robbing the mail train!

42 years, 35 years. Wow! I thought I was doing good at 25 years.

And of course you look young, Ron and so do you Lyn, in fact lyn you look 35, let alone being married that long. It must be the wonderful English air that keeps you looking so young, another reason I should move back to England, I'll let me husband know, that might entice him.
