Your younger Brother, is that  compliment? Every morning I look in the mirror, and I see my father looking back at me. Now that is spooky, he's been dead for years.

Getting back to ghosts. Before i moved into my current house, just over thirty years ago, the house was gutted by a fire. Sadly two young children died in the back bedroom. They are still here today. We often hear them playing during the day, and a friends little boy saw them sitting on the top stair. They are no trouble at all, Occasionaly moving things, but they always turn up again. Due to health problems, the wife sleeps in the back bedroom. Sometimes at night, one of the children creep into bed with me and cuddles up. I dont know which one, the boy or the girl. I think they are looking for comfort. There is never a sound, just the feel of a small child by my side. I dont mind one bit, there is no threat and after all, they are just children.

I saw the girl once and told my mate, it turned out that his wife was the girls aunt. There is no coldness assotiated with the children just warmth. So I dont mind the extra company. My sister wont stay overnight angain, because it scared the living daylights out of her. How can you be scared of children?

I'll send mine over, might change your mind. (They are good lads actually)

That is a touching story. I'm glad that you are not scared of them, they probably sense that and are more willing to come 'visit'.

Hi Peter

I don't think I would be comfortable with that, I know you said thay were children, but they are ghosts.  I'd be looking for ways to send them on to the other side.  They can't be happy stuck in limbo.  And it sounds like they want comforting as well.

Karen, as my wife now sleeps in the back room, and boy can she snore, the children probably come in to my room for some peace and quiet. Seriousely though, my father was a medium. I dont know if some of it rubbed off on me, but some of the things that I found out from him, I wouldnt trust anyone coming in to "help the children on thier way". As far as I know, thier parents are still alive. The visits are getting fewer and I think that they will find thier way at some point. The funny thing is, I get a visit, usualy, when I am feeling unwell. It is a warm feeling, not cold as you would expect.

Ron, my brother and I look like twins now. And he IS ugly. I think I may go for a face transplant, but who's face?  I will have to find out wich actor my wife fancies. lol

This might be sound spooky but this actually happened to me.

Many years ago I was employed by an organisation that had its training facilities in a converted 300 yr. old mansion situated in the Dales on the Yorkshire/Durham border, if you have seen a program called 'Ladettes to Ladies' you will have some idea of the type of building. However, the accommodation was pretty basic, six students to a room and I believe that that the furnishing had come from an army surplus sale. The place was very isolated, miles away from any town or village.

I had only been with the organisation a few weeks when I was sent there on a basic training course. On my first night there I was awoken from a deep sleep about 1am, I don't know what it was that woke me, but you know you know what its like when you wake and for a second or two you don't know where you are, that was what it was like for me. The only light in the room was coming under the door leading into the corridor where a low power light bulb was burning.

It was then that I heard the sound of what I can only describe as slow, steady foot steps coming along the landing. I thought that one of the other occupants of the room had got up to go to the bathroom, but as my eyes adjusted to the darkness I could see that all the other beds were occupied. The foot steps came along the landing and as I looked at the door I expected to see the shadow or outline of the person appear in the light under the door. The noise stopped outside the room but I could not see any indication of any person outside.

After a few seconds the sound to the steps appeared to be inside the room, even thought the door had not been opened. The sounds of the steps moved slowly across the room and in my minds eye I could almost visualise someone walking across the room. The sounds went straight across the room and stopped next to the window that looked out over the courtyard.

Remember, that this was in an area where there is no street lighting and there was no other form of external illumination, there was only the dim starlight coming from the outside, I could not make out the form of anything outlined in the window against that dim light.

The main thing that I do remember after all this time is that within a very short space of time the room became very cold and almost icy.

That's about it. Anyone any ideas as to the cause?

By the way I do not believe in ghosts.

Roy.

Well I would say that if you don't believe in ghosts, or apparitions, or spirits from the past, then you were probably dreaming.

It's sounds like it was a spooky experience no matter what it was walking around that place. Did you find yourself riveted to the spot? I've been so scared before that I couldn't move, and it's not a nice feeling.
