I have all the English bird sounds on one ipod, and the American on another. I will have to go and listen to both.

Sounds like you had a good birding trip.

As a family friendly site I'm sure that some words are unacceptable, but I know that the word that Roses just used is an everyday expression in America.

I wonder when POE is going to come up with moderators?

I'd like to be one of those police officers on "Animal Planet" who go after animal abusers.  But I'd probably end up killing somebody...so maybe that's not a good idea? LOL.

I happen to come across so many examples of stupidity and blind indifference about animal abusing that if you did, do count on me for silence and cover !

With so many  wildlife  lovers on here perhaps I can find the answer to my  6 million $ question :  How can I get squirrels to eat from my hand?? .  I didn't even think it would be possible till I saw some pictures from other amateurs on the Internet and  they were literally climbing up their arms or standing on the ground and eating from their palms . I've tried so many times in the park where I use to go jogging, armed with plenty of nuts and patience but there's no way for me to get any closer than a meter before watching them disappearing like little ghosts  :( .

Dangerous business having a squirrel eat from your hand, as they are prone to biting, and they have nasty, long teeth that really hurt. I don't think they intend to bite, just part of getting the food and being a bit over ambitious.

I wouldn't suggest trying, but if you do, then I would find a good squirrel place, take a handful of nuts, sit still in one place and do this over a number of days as they may have to get use to your presence.

Good luck!
