Kingston communications, the local telephone company and internet server, has the monopoly around these parts. They charge me £27.95 a month for the priviledge of using their service and I have NO choice in the matter. BT won't entertain me, it would cost a small fortune to get a line in. If ever you come to Hull, or in fact anywhere in the HU postcode you will notice something unique in England......white phone boxes, as painted by Kingston communications. I'm 500 yards from the nearest BT exchange and I still only get about 2 meg on my 'up to 8 meg' contract. Curly and short spring to mind. |

In fact I know this to be the case Andy because Jeff also has the same 'deal'. I reckon you should start a petition up there because you are clearly being victimised, and where's your freedom of choice? (Check out the Human Rights Act, I bet that covers it!!!). Incidentally, I had contact with Jeff just a couple of days ago and he said Barbara was doing well after her release from hospital. |

Even now we only have them or BT, but BT can only handle speeds up to 4mb, so we stayed with Virgin. My best wishes also to Barbara! |

When BT eventually renewed all the cables etc so she could get it, she still couldn't. An engineer was called out again and although the new cables were there, whoever had done it in the first place had reconnected the old cables and left the new ones dangling. Now she can connect only if she uses the telephone to dial out first, then hangs up! Dare I say "What's the matter with BT?" !!!! |
