A friend called me up and asked if I'd like to join he and his significant other to watch opening of the Olympics and I said, "Sorry. Thanks for the invite but I can't imagine anything I would rather NOT watch." LOL!  So, I haven't seen any of it. LOL!

I watched the Women's road cycling - what a finish.  Not that I'm biased or anything because a British girl won !!

I dont watch the olympics, but I did see the end of the Womans road cycle race. And she was welsh. Hooray!!!!!!! You get good strong legs walking up those mountains.

Couldn't help getting into the Olympics today! Britain has done so well! Swimming, rowing and cycling golds! The boys were shouting everyone on and I couldn't help joining in. It's great being patriotic!!!!

Sadly I've seen nothing of the English winning over here as of course they dwell on the American wins.

Still, last night we watched the two American girls win the gold and silver in gymnastics, and again, I was blown away by their skills.

The rowing was so exciting Sue - I lost my voice - we were a length behind Oz in the last 100m and then from somewhere they found the energy to overtake and get gold! In the swimming 19 year old Rebecca Adlington won gold for GB in 400m and 800m swimming (freestyle I think) and she broke the world record in 800m which had stood since 1989. Then we won gold and silver in cycling. It was great - we are 7th in the table and we should win more tomorrow. It was all very exciting!
