You must have missed the two truths and a lie thread! He won a competition a few years ago - they wanted a local voice to be Voice of Dudley - the voice on the council's pay system. He was on local television and radio. The staff recognised him when we went to the supermarket. It was good fun! Paul checked on google and found it on there - I couldn't believe it!

John Rhys Davies played Gimli in Lord of the Rings, Sallah in Raiders of the Lost Arch, he was in a series called Sliders (which I've never seen) On his Imdb page he has 185 film and TV credits to his name.

So not a Hollywood star, but a steady actor.

Richard Taylor, owner of Weta, who did the special effects for LOTR kissed me. He had just won his two Oscars for Fellowship of the Ring and he was so excited, he went around kissing all the women. It was so fun to watch him, Guess he's not a celeb though, so he doesn't count.
