My oldest son eats very little meat. We eat meat once or twice a week, and there are tons of meatless recipes out there.

It is a healthy lifestyle if you work to get all the right nutrients from the meatless foods that are out there.

I wouldn't call myself a vegetarian but I rarely eat meat....just ususally fish too!

My dad is a vegetarian so I got it from him.  I will eat meat on occasion and my girls do too but they are not big on meat either.

I think meat is just too risky sometimes with all the hormones and such.  And there is ususally one meat company that has an E coli scare!

Funny...my Sammie (the oldest) who saw me write this just imformed me that she is a vegetarian!!!  She feels it's wrong to eat animals!!  Hmm...I didn't know that about her!!

I only buy meat that hasn't been treated with hormones, which is why we only eat it a few times a week, as it costs a bomb.

Yeah, the thing is they treat a lot of veg with chemicals too!!! its shocking, i get organic veg delivered, but i suppose you never really know unless you grow your own, then is the soil ok???!!! Surprised  i must admit the veg taste so much better than supermarket veg!

Time to start keeping sheep and pigs in the back garden I think.

Saying that just reminded me of the Animal  and Shire Horse Sanctuary in East Runton. I posted a few photos of pigs from there. The farmer who owned them raised them for the bacon. But they became pets of the family and, because he needed the room for more pigs and couldnt bring himself to send them to slaghter,he donated the to the sanctuary. Nothing to do with vegetarianism I know, but a nice story all the same. Especially for the pigs. Lol

Just a thought but… would a vegetarian who believes killing animals is wrong eat a nice cut of sheep leg if it had been amputated humanly leaving the animal with three legs ?

Personally I would never eat vegetables grown in a field where an animal may have been tethered.
