My father turned our back yard into a garden when I was growing up. I remember my Mom canning over 500 quarts of food one summer. Us kids would sit around the table cutting greenbeans or I would be helping to peel apples or tomatoes. My great Uncle Bill had a 100 acre dairy farm when I was growing up. The farm has been in the family for over 200 years. Now that he has passed on I think I know some one in the family has it. One of the grandchildren, I think. I used to love to visit that farm. I would talk to the cows and chickens. We always came home with eggs, apples, honey combs. |
