I never "loan" money. I figure it cost more bad feelings and destroys more relationships than it's worth.  If a friend or a family member ask to borrow money, I check my budget to see if I can aford to give it to them as a gift, if I can, then they get it with no need to repay. If I can not, then I have to say, sorry, can't aford it.

LOL, no worries Lyn!  I don't think it matters how you approached the question. It's just fun to see how others would handle difficult dilemmas.

Sorry about our posts today, Auntie and I can't seem to get our act together! Wink LOL!

to me, a lot would depend on what they wanted it for in the first place. If they'd agreed to pay it back, fine. If they didn't in the end, even in small amounts,I wouldn't worry that much about it. But, they had just shown me their word isn't worth anything, and that would be remembered for a long time. To me, it's not so much a question of money but one of integrity.

Your new neighbors invite you and your spouse to watch a new movie on their DVD player.  Surprisingly, it turns out to be a soft porn flick. How do you handle the situation?
