Yes, we had a pretty severe thunderstorm last night - a lot of damage from snapped trees, fallen power lines, etc. Most of it was in downtown Phoenix and Tempe, which are about 15 miles from me. We had a lot of rain and lightning at my house, and the power went off about 12:30, but I slept thru most of it. That's the way all the rain we get in summer comes in - afternoon and evening storms, probably the same for you, Sue. I think the whole intermountain west is like that. But considering we only get about 2" of rain in the summer, and this year we've gotten 5", I'm not complaining. I think the place that needs prayer now, Sue, is the gulf coast. Looks like Gustav has taken a bead on Louisiana, with landfall on Monday morning as possibly a Category 3 hurricane. Of all the places they don't need it......
