Karen, I think you will find that Pugh is a Welsh name. So maybe somewhere in the past, your husbands ancesters came from Wales too.

I have a confession to make.  Sinclair is not my birth name. My father's last name is Duncan, which is also Scottish, but is shrouded in a bit of mystery after Robert Ruabh Duncanson, who was a strong supporter of King James I and was incensed by his murder, tracked down and captured several of the regicides, and turned them over to the Crown. For his bravery his descendants became known as "Robert's sons" or Robertson. Thus, the clan Duncan is now considered a sept of Robertson, although, Duncan pre-existed Robertson. Both are members of the Clan Donnachaidh. It 's all a little confusing! LOL!

  but very fascinating history.

I was left at the hospital at birth (I'm sure I've shared this story before), no name, just a sorry little baby, so the nurses gave me named me Susan, which was the most popular name of the time.

When I was adopted I was given my middle name by my adoptive mum, which is Elizabeth.

You must get curious about your birth parents Sue. Did you ever make an attempt to find them and thus discover your heritage?
