I just made my son a couple of slices of marmite on toast. I'd made a Sally Lunn loaf a few days ago, and it's at the perfect toasting stage right now. Yummy!

I make bread about three or four times a week Alan. Usually a whole wheat loaf, but at least once a week I'll make a variety loaf for a bit of fun.

When I was young (go on - try to believe I was once) I had an aunt in Chester-le-Street who not only baked her own bread, scones and stotties, but alsoproduced herown jams from fruit bushes in the garden of her home.  As you can imagine, she really was a favourite aunt of mine.  Not just because of the home produce, but because she was very funny but down to esrth as well.

My mum made her own jams from garden (and hedgerow) fruit, and chutneys too.  She made bread occasionally. I love making bread, and I love the aroma that wafts through the house as it bakes (have some baking now in fact).

I also make my own yogurt. Once you've eaten homemade yogurt there is no going back.
