But McCain is in his 70's, and if he gets elected and dies in office, the new president would be (gulp) Sarah Palin. Obama does his homework and if he chooses a good cabinet and not just a bunch of yes men, I think he'll be OK. I'm not a huge Joe Biden fan, but the main job of the vice president is not to head the senate, or be an advisor to the president, but to take the reins should the sitting president die in office or become incapacitated.
