A few quotes I saw today that I like:

America believes in education: the average professor earns more money in a year than a professional athlete earns in a whole week.

Evan Esar

If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep.

Nice! I like that one. It rather annoys me when people ask I'm doing, and then walk away before I can answer. :-s

You know though, a professor doesn't really earn more than an athlete right? At least I don't think they do. I thought that it was getting at how professors make such an impact on this world that they "earn more" than athletes. Meaning they actually do something that is good for the future of society.  They may not earn more than athletes but they are always going to have more value in their job.

My history teacher said, that no matter, how bad the economy gets teachers will always be needed. Profs and teachers do a great job that will always be needed. If the economy gets bad, people can't afford to go to sports games. A sports game is a one time thing, you go, watch and enjoy, and it's over. Education is forever!!!

I understood but thank you anyway. Laughing I'm impressed!

I think that's really unfair that sportsmen or any other celebritys earn much more money than teachers do. Your history teacher is quite right: they are always needed. And I don't understand why it should be so!

Yeah I know you got it, but just had to write about that quote. lol

You are right, it is unfair that sportsmen and celebrities earn more than teachers. They don't do anything to help the world. They are always needed, and will never ever be out of a job. :) Even if they do get shuffled around a lot. ;)

You may be able to polish a turd, but it's still a turd.
