Great Yogi Berra story,it may(or may not tickle some British funny bones)During Spring training many years ago the Queen,or was it the Queen Mother, was touring the States. While visiting Florida she went to a Yankee spring training game. After the game she met with some of the Yankee players and when introduced to Mr Berra, who was seasonly clad in a pair of Bermuda shorts and a short sleeve shirt, remarked to him that he looked cool(in relation to the hot humid weather)Yogi replied, and I quote"You don't look so hot yourself"

Another time he came home from a game and asked his wife what she did during the day.She replied that she took the kids to see Dr Zhivago.'What the hell's wrong with them now" was his reply.

those were the days..I remember them well.... I've also known them to go to the Kentucky Derby, and one of my favorite spots, Colonial Williamsburg also...them meaning the Queen and her family.  I'm sitting here reading an book about Austrailia..wondering how those folks are since the fires down there and wondering if "wolf" or any of them will ever come back and talk to us about it all, but this author has been singing the song "Waltzing with Matilda" as he's going down the road to Melbourne. I'd about forgottten it's delighful lyrics until he put it up to remind us and then translate the song.

It was a very funny moment.  In the same episode, he also coined the word "humbility" (we would say humility).  He was learning how to be humble.  Not easy for the world's greatest detective, n'est-ce pas?

Carefull what you wish for, you might just get it.

Carefull when you ask for honesty, you might just get that too.

I don 't know who said them, but, I am carefull. Sometimes honesty hurts.....

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO-HOO what a ride!”
