Perhaps its a good job that I did not mention about sitting on the benches while a flock of about 40 Long Tailed Tits circled round within inches of my head as they searched the bushes for food. Their twittering filled the air. I could have mentioned seeing the small flock of Red Wings that having flown in across the North Sea from their homes in Russia and Scandinavia,, decent exhausted onto a group of Hawthorn Bushes to refuel. Then, having rested and fed on the berries, set off again on their migration to who knows where. Its a good job that I did not mention seeing the Jay, dropping from the treetops to bury an acorn under the leaves, perhaps with the intention of returning to collect it later when food is in short supply. Then as soon as the Jay has flown away, watching a Grey Squirrel come down a tree and proceeding to dig up that acorn and carry it away. At times you dare not move in order to use the camera, if you do so, you would disturb that precious moment. If I had mentioned those incidents your homesickness might have been worse. So I won't mention them. Even without the camera those incidents are burned into my minds eye for ever. Regards Roy |

Even though it makes me terrible homesick, I'm so glad you listed all those wonderful things you didn't mention. Thank you Roy. |

I went back to the Wetland Centre yesterday and just for you took some more pictures along the woodland walk. I know you can not do much walking at the moment so these pictures might just help to encourage you to get back on your feet. Regards Roy J. |

Off to the Doctor's on Monday and hopefully will get rid of the crutches and just be left with the boot. And Roy, you're new photos were a JOY to wake up to. |

The boot I will probably have on for another two or three week, and I'm hoping that I can at least take it off at night after Monday because it's huge and very uncomfortable to sleep in. As for walking about in it, that's really not too bad, keeps your foot warm too. |
