Lets face it were all still being ripped off when you consider the profits made by the Oil Companies and the tax element applied by this 'Darling' of a Government! |

By the time 5pm came around, north-bound traffic was at a standstill and police stepped in. Simon Chapman from Ulladulla Motors said he made the decision to offer discounted fuel because "everybody's fed up with the big companies ruling the roost". He said local motorists had been "paying through their nose" for fuel over the past few years but no-one was willing to do anything about it. He said the major fuel companies were pocketing enormous profits while the Federal Government was also enjoying a huge slice of the pie through fuel excise and GST. He believes 95.9 cents is about what people should be paying for a litre of unleaded fuel and said there was no reason why people in Ulladulla should be paying more than anyone else. _______________________________ Regional areas are paying a lot more than the Sydney area Lyn, at a local service station it was $1-42.9c last week. |
