About 30 odd years ago I worked in a garage that repaired damaged cars. The governor of the garage would take photos of the damage to the car then progress with the repair once given the go-ahead from the insurers holding the photos as proof of damage.

He would get a chrome door moulding, bend and buckle it, then lay it on the ground by the car door. He would then take a photo of the undamaged door with the reflection of the buckled moulding aimed into the camera. The out come was a photo of a door with what looked like a huge dent in it. This would then be included in the overall cost of repair.

I didn’t learn too much about car repairs while working for him but I did learn a lot about greed, theft and deception.
