When i was little one year I thought Santa was going around with no clothes on - my Dad had forgotten to bring in out presents and he had jumped out of bed and quickly put the sacks at the bottom of our beds but I was half awake and saw part naked Santa running out of the room (before he was disabled I might add!)! Another year Santa delivered our presents to Mom and Dad's room instead of ours - he had overslept again! Learning from those experiences our Santa always leaves the presents under the tree DOWNSTAIRS!!! About seven years ago I fell out of Mom's front door on Christmas day (I don't drink so it wasn't too much Christmas spirit!) and I ended up in accident and emergency all Christmas evening with my sister - great fun - then on crutches with torn ligaments for a few weeks!). |

She was sitting on the sofa on Christmas morning and leaned over and took a nose dive on the floor. As she was falling she hit her head on the coffee table. She had a big goose egg on her forehead and was miserable the rest of the day! My heart ached for her! |

I do remember this cheap, plastic Father Christmas chime we had hung from the hallway ceiling. When it came time to take down the Christmas decorations the chime was forgotten and it stayed up there for years. It got to be a habit for me to tap the chimes as I went past, and then when I came home late after a night out with the girls, I would tap the chimes and my mum, wakeful until my return, would know I was home safe and sound. I now have chimes (a bit better quality) hung in my hall, which I tap as I go past in memory of my mum and our little tradition. Not a funny experience, but kinda Christmas related.Edited by: Sue H. at:22nd December 2008 16:33 |

My mom made sugar cookies and they had green sprinkles on them and my brother Doug told me that it was poison!! He was going to poison Santa so I would get no gifts!!! I was horrified!!!! I screamed and cried and ran to my mom!! I still remember how that felt!!! My heart just broke!! But Doug got into a heap of trouble for that!!! Funny what siblings will do to each other!!! |

I had a similar one when Aaron was a baby Cathy - we were eating our dinner and I put him in his rocker and forgot to strap him in and he rocked right off the chair. It wasn't funny but under the "Christmas accident" theme though!!! Another year my step sister's dog bit my sister's son and we ended up in accident and emergency again. My friend said we need our own room up at the hospital! Love the chime memory Sue. I have left up decorations and then only noticed in February! Maybe that accounts for the bad luck! The poison thing is great Krissy! Brothers!!! I have a few funnies from this year. We went to Bodenham on Saturday and went around the star trail to find the nativity. The boys then went to see Mother Christmas. My friends son was with us - he is 13 now and she said he wouldn't want to go in but I asked him and he said he wanted to. I took all 4 of them in. Mother Christmas asked their ages and Aaron said I'm 8, Joe's 12 and Sol's 3. Then Calum said in a newly broken voice "and I'm 13!" It just sounded so funny as he is as tall as me now! Then she asked what they all wanted from Santa and Sol said a DS. When she gave them a little gift for visiting he said "Is this my DS?" and she said he would have to wait until Christmas for that!!

They put up a Christmas tree and had presents for us etc. We were very excited, and found it very had to sleep on Christmas eve. Unbeknown to my grandparents, Guy and I had sneaked out of bed and wandered out into the garage (for some reason I can't remember). According to my grandparents, they heard me outside, saying, "Here you go baby, drink this and you'll be all better." They went outside to find my brother drinking a cup of gasoline that I had poured him. Clearly, he had only taken a sip and then spit it out, but we spent all of Christmas eve at the hospital!
