I don't think that one man, even an American president can chance the general thinking of millions. not in a few years anyway

But I have to admit that there is a better feeling in the US right now...as sense of hope.

As someone who commutes from northern Virginia into Washington, DC to work every day (no picnic, by the way), I will be happy when the Inauguration fuss is all over.  The street closures, traffic and level of security around here are unbelievable.  Thankfully, my office will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Day, and Tuesday for the Inauguration.  I'll be watching it from the comfort of my own home.

As to Mr. Obama as President, I truly hope he can turn things around for the better, and to that end I pray for his safety (there are a lot of racist-wackos out there with a skewed view of things) and that he will seek the wisdom and guidance of God as he tackles some major problems and issues in our country and around the world.  He's taken on a job that I would never want!

He ran on a platform for change and then proceeded to choose a dinosaur for a running mate and fill his cabinet with the usual suspects.

I didn't vote for him, but like a good American, I hope his administration succeeds.

Cheers,

Bob
