I had been going out with a girl who after a while I wanted to dump but didn't really know how to tell her. As things turned out we were at a dance in Oxford one Saturday night when on came Roy Orbison's great song 'It's Over'. I looked at her and said hear that, she said what? I said that's the way it is and walked away. I never saw her again, but then I met my dear Anna!! What's your song and memory?

Yeah but without it I wouldn't have met Anna and have the beautiful children and grandchildren, so no contest! Sorry Veronica!

Just as well then the DJ didn't play Oh, Pretty Woman. You'd of had to go onto Plan B.

Good thread Ron! At least you were brave enough to say it to her face. I think that should be another thread - great ways you broke up with people - I could add lots to that thread!

Songs and memories go hand in hand for me - I love lyrics to songs and can remember them word for word - shame I can't sing!

They played Elvis Hawaiian Wedding song for us after we got married in Oahu, Hawaii. That is a great memory.

I once sent "Live you Life Be Free" Belinda Carlisle through the post to a guy who was a friend in a very unhappy relationship. He ended up marrying her later though - and is still unhappy I hear!!!

I hate "With or Without You"  as my ex husband Stephen played it over and over again when we split up!

Well okay Stephaine, your wish is my command. Look for the thread 'Relationships, how did you say goodbye'?

I just arrived in the UK, headed for RAF Greenham Common. The base billeting office put me up at the Queens Hotel in downtown Newbury. I arrived there after lunch an before evening hours.

I went to my room for a kip and when I woke up it was dinner time. I walked downstairs and the pub was mobbed and the song that was playing...Cinderella Rockafella. I thought, geez, what a horrible song.

Ooohhh

I remember that one Bob. Gosh! That must have been back in the 70's. Ester and Abi Ofarim sang it.
