I'm especially picky about people who don't indicate. Oh, and idiots who slow down almost to a stop when they see a police car, like the cop hasn't already clocked there speed. |

My pet peeve is people who cruise along in the passing lane without passing anyone. I don't tailgate them or flash my lights or honk, or anything like that, but it takes all my maturity to nor do so. It's almost hard not to think road rage. But I think the worst offenders nowadays are people who can't live for 5 minutes without the phone in their ears. If I'm stopped at a light and the person in front of me fails to go when the light changes, invariably it's because they're fiddling with the phone. I DO honk at them. There was recently a horrible head on collision in which both drivers died. One of the drivers was a 16-year old girl who lost control and crossed the center line. She was actually texting at the time of the accident. |

I think we've created a world where people have very little interaction except through (gulp) the Internet and TV. We live alone, we play alone, we eat alone, everything in our lives today is designed to make us self sufficient to the point that we could go weeks without seeing another human soul and survive. We've become desensitised to each other, and no longer need each other the way our ancestors did to survive...or so we think. But what's the price emotionally and socially? Crime is at an all time high, and we get annoyed with the little old grandmother who is in front of us in line and can't walk fast enough for our liking. We add to that millions of cars on the roads world wide and most of them have only one passenger. While driving we turn on our radios and do everything we can to avoid each other, except when we are angry. I think road rage is just one of the many symptoms of our social isolation. |

They days of tight-knit families and close friends and neighbors are long gone, sadly! If only there could be something that could kick off a world wide action...a national or world day of no tv, no internet and actual human contact!! |
